FACT: Every day the human body loses approximately a litre of body fluids through the skin Pores and mouth, as well as millions of skin flakes. They are all absorbed into your mattress and pillows. Approximately 2 million dust mites can be living and breeding in your mattress and pillows. These protectors are recommended by doctors for people that suffer from asthma or allergies as the encasement will protect the top bottom and sides of the mattress which will prevent dust mites bacteria mould contaminating your mattress and pillows. There is also the fitted or strapped waterproof protector. These protectors usually have a quilted cotton top or a terry towelling top. These protectors only protect the top side of the mattress but will prevent liquid stains and dust from penetrating the top surface. Never use a new mattress or pillow without a waterproof protector on it as stains can build up very quickly. It only takes one single night sleeping on an unprotected mattress or pillow for it to become stained or damaged. Imagine you had bought a new mattress and used it on the first night without a waterproof mattress protector and became aware of something being not right or faulty with the mattress, if it has any stains or marks on it, then the shop you bought it from could refuse to exchange it. So as soon as you buy a new mattress or pillows always fit a waterproof protector on it straight away. Don't take any risks.
